The Position:
To provide management and leadership to all bursar staff and to coordinate the regional process for all revenue collection. To ensure that all revenue is recognized in the appropriate period, billed and recorded in the region's accounting records timely and accurately. To assist the Director with enforcing college financial management policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations as it pertains to revenue and collection process, including the recording of revenue
  • Manage the day-to-day operations for the frontline staff, 3rd party billing, and work studies
  • Prepare Daily deposit/CRF
  • Handle escalated student issues
  • Petty Cash reconciliation
  • Assist with answering phone and emails from students while providing good customer service
  • Ensure that procedures are documented and current
  • Work with the director on process improvements to enhance efficiencies
  • Maintain a training manual for all new employees and ensure that all new employees are properly trained
  • Oversee account billings to students, third party sponsors, and scholarship providers
  • Oversee receivable balances and regional invoicing procedures using reporting tools
  • Maintains adherence to Financial Management rules and regulations in regards to revenue collection
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints, both independently and with the Director
  • Provides oversight and leadership to Bursar Office staff
  • Works with other departments to develop strategies to streamline the student service process.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Two years of related experience
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Experience in Banner AR system
  • Experience with Workday
  • 5 years of accounting experience in a college setting
  • Data Analysis Experience

Starting Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000/annually (based on experience)
Classification: E1 (exempt)
