What are the responsibilities and job description for the Testing Services Manager position at Ivy Tech Community College?
The Testing Services Manager will manage the Testing Center operations within the campus and/or roll-up campus area. The manager will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all Testing Centers in the roll-up campus. The Manager is responsible for maintaining set standards of exam administration and security procedures within the Testing Center. The Manager will establish and maintain relationships with Academic Affairs, Student Success, Enrollment Services, Workforce Alignment, other departmental staff, faculty, testing vendors, partners and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure the administration of exams through the Center to meet exam integrity and security as well as provide exemplary customer service. This includes operational support to campus roll-up sites or locations that deliver placement or other exams outside of and/or without a dedicated Testing Center.
- Ensure that all Testing Center staff charged with exam administration meet vendor process and administration requirements.
- Manage the scheduling of activities in the Center.
- Manage record keeping and reporting of center activity. Keep records of all Testing Services exam administration conducted on the campus and campus roll-up sites and other information as necessary to provide reports in a timely manner.
- Measure and maximize Center capacity. Ensure that appropriate equipment is available for the administration and security of exam administration.
- Hire and supervise appropriate staff for the Center, such as proctors.
- Communicate and market Testing Center services to internal audiences.
- Maintain Center budget including exam and supply purchasing.
- Work alongside Workforce Alignment and Academic partners on curriculum and/or training that includes exam administration.
- Work closely with other Testing Services Managers to ensure consistency for candidates and promotion of academic integrity. Active participation in Testing Services Management group discussions and attendance at statewide meetings.
- Stay abreast of knowledge about academic assessments, certifications and exam providers.
- Explore opportunities and make recommendations to leadership on ways to add/expand services to meet student and community needs.
- Obtain and maintain vendor credentialing
- Proctor examines both academic and certification on a regular basis and act as a backup proctor if absences occur.
- Participate in training as necessary to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas.
- Coordinate the use of any exam administration workstations placed at outlying locations.

Hiring Range:
- $50,000 - $60,000 depending on education and relevant experience
Work Hours:
- Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; flexibility in hours during peak testing weeks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree and three (3) years related experience in one or more of the following areas: testing centers, information management, resource management, training, or education.
- Working knowledge of computers is essential.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

- Must possess an ability and a willingness to travel in the performance of assigned duties.
