Ivy Tech seeks a qualified Visual Communications Adjunct Instructor to supplement the instruction needs of our students at the Evansville, IN campus. Students taking these courses go on to pursue degrees in graphic design, marketing, and media.
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Major Responsibilities:
Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.
PROGRAM OPERATION:
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submits requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS:
- Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION:
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canva, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
- Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Hiring Range:
- $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).
Work Hours:
- This position will teach our 2nd 8 week spring term that starts in March 2025. Classes will be either Monday and Wednesday from 1:00-4:50pm or Thursday and Thursday from 1:00-4:50pm.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Successful candidates must provide a portfolio of current work
- 5 years work experience with demonstrated knowledge of visual communications knowledge and skills.
- Must be located to teach in-person at the Evansville, IN campus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as faculty in higher education.
