A growing distribution company is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain its network infrastructure while assisting in system development and expansion. This role involves managing network hardware, ensuring system security, and providing technical support to internal users. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in maintaining system performance and security.
IT Infrastructure Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and replace network hardware, including switches and routers.
- Manage wireless networks and configure wireless access points.
- Oversee Windows updates and assist with Exchange Management Console.
- Maintain system backups and file share permissions.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and system-related issues.
- Monitor and maintain systems to ensure high performance and availability.
- Enhance the company’s security posture through proactive measures.
- Work independently on assignments requiring sound judgment and initiative.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
- Provide first- and second-level support to users.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support as needed.
IT Infrastructure Engineer Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cyber security best practices and tools.
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with Exchange (both 365 and On-Prem) and Office 365 products.
- Ability to configure routers, IPSec tunnels, and VPNs.
- Experience with Microsoft Server configuration and maintenance.
- Proficiency in Windows desktop imaging, configuration, and support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server highly preferred.
