Cascade Youth and Family Center (CYFC), a program of J Bar J Youth Services, is looking for a dedicated Case Manager to join our Basic Center Program.
Position Overview
As a Case Manager, you’ll be at the heart of empowering youth and their families, serving as the primary advocate for those in short-term and emergency shelter programs. From providing intake assessments and creating personalized resource referrals to facilitating family mediation and problem-solving, your work will help pave the way for healthier family dynamics and brighter futures.
This full-time role offers a starting wage of $22/hour and requires flexible availability, including nights and weekends, with primary hours being Monday through Friday. Emergency on-call availability is a core aspect of the position.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain professional relationships with schools, juvenile departments, law enforcement, and community agencies.
- Conduct intakes and comprehensive assessments for youth using standardized tools.
- Collaborate with families and community resources to create sustainable options for youth and families.
- Provide short-term shelter and support for runaway and at-risk youth, focusing on solutions and secure placements.
- Facilitate family mediations to promote healing and resolution.
- Document casework thoroughly and prepare detailed reports.
- Offer backup crisis and support services for CYFC and the Basic Center Program.
- Contribute to additional responsibilities as needed, under the guidance of the Program Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with youth, families, and community professionals.
- Advanced problem-solving, mediation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of intake and assessment procedures for youth ages 11-17, as well as the juvenile justice system, local educational institutions, and youth service resources.
- Proven ability to provide crisis intervention and effective referrals.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including public speaking and group facilitation skills.
- Commitment to supporting runaway, homeless, and underappreciated youth with compassion and professionalism.
