Summary:

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Knowledge and experience in international documentation and shipping. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. 

Requirements

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
• Ability to use various hand tools, saws, and equipment to build and secure materials for shipment.
• Fill out applicable documentation.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping      information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist      shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.

Education:

• High school Diploma or similar degree
• GED

Experience and Background:

• Demonstrate competency in basic shop math.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
• Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
• Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in a cross-functional      team.
• Possess ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously      improve.
  
   

Physical Requirements

The majority of the job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring high degree of safety precautions.
