Furnace Operator

This position works in our Foundry on 3rd Shift from Sunday night - Thursday morning. Job function is to operate induction furnaces in a safe and efficient manner, involves loading and unloading induction furnaces, repairing ladles, furnace spots and furnace caps, requires operating a forklift, overhead crane, spectrograph, weigh scales, cutting torches, chipping hammer, air rammer and other selected tools. Must learn to recognize and use different types of irons.

· Must be able to read and write and demonstrate good communication skills.

· Must be self motivated with the ability to work without supervision and complete the task assigned.

· Must have a good attendance and safety record.

· Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

· Must be able to drive a forklift and use weight scales.

· Must be able to operate overhead crane.

· Must learn how to operate all induction furnaces in a safe and efficient manner.

· Must be able to operate a chipping hammer and air rammer (normally less than 2 hours per day).

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move materials by hand and crane up to 55 lbs., able to lift, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.

Constantly required to stand

Must occasionally climb up and down ladders

Pay: $19.50 - $24.05 per hour
