We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager located in Fond du Lac, WI.
How you will contribute:
You will be exposed to all facets of the purchasing/procurement function here at Ahern and lead a Purchasing team of 7 employees. This position will ultimately assist us in moving from a tactical emphasis to a more strategic view that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and initiatives. The manager will be responsible for developing and training the team, recruiting and hiring decisions for the department, improving the department’s efficiency, becoming a product expert, researching new products and technology, enhancing our pricing process, managing the procurement of materials, and ensuring on-time delivery, and building relationships with our internal network as well as our suppliers.
What you need to qualify:
Ahern will help make the most of your Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field. Four to six years of work experience in purchasing/procurement/supply chain preferred. You can stand out above other candidates by demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills, and being able to execute tasks with a great amount of detail will be crucial. You will need to possess the ability to influence the organization and develop action strategies to enhance the overall Supply Chain operation and have a proven leadership record.
