We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs in our community. Your primary focus will be to ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs while they enjoy their walks. Ideal candidates will have a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple dogs at once.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds in a safe and controlled manner.
- Ensure all dogs are leashed properly and adhere to local leash laws.
- Monitor the behavior and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior.
- Maintain a clean environment by picking up after dogs during walks.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and needs.
- Follow any specific instructions provided by dog owners regarding care or special requirements.
- Build positive relationships with both pets and their owners to foster trust and repeat business.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet care, including dog walking, pet sitting, or animal handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic training techniques is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple dogs simultaneously while ensuring their safety.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in following instructions from pet owners.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with both pets and their owners.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
- Certification or experience in veterinary care, grooming, or kennel management is advantageous but not required.
