Duties
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization.
- Monitor the behavior and health of dogs during walks, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, utilizing proper handling techniques to ensure safety.
- Clean up after dogs during walks, adhering to local regulations regarding pet waste.
- Provide basic training commands as needed to reinforce good behavior while walking.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's needs and behavior.
- Assist with additional pet care tasks as needed, such as feeding or administering medication.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet care, such as dog handling, pet sitting, or working as a veterinary technician is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques, including animal restraint if necessary.
- Strong communication skills to interact with both pets and their owners effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple dogs at once while ensuring their safety and well-being.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of walking dogs for extended periods.
- Certification in pet grooming or dog training is a plus but not required.
