Construction Project Manager
Summary and Job Description:
J. Hall Homes is seeking a full-time, individual to join our award-winning Custom Home Builder team as a Project Manager. J. Hall Homes is a small, family owned and operated, Design-Build Custom Home Builder, based out of Fredericksburg, VA. Established in 1999, this company maintains a distinguished and exceptional reputation. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated individual who will work closely with and report directly to the Owner. This is a full time, in office and on site, salaried position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all construction site activity within assigned project(s), in conjunction with the Superintendent, to include: scheduling, relationship management, and supervision of all subcontractors and trade partners
- Inspects and accepts the work performed in each phase of the construction process maintaining high quality standards, while also and maintaining job site cleanliness, and job site safety
- Communicates with clients regularly
- Responsible for ensuring the job stays on schedule and on budget
- Responsible for scheduling county inspections, and meeting with inspectors
- Maintains a running punch list, and ensures the house is ready for the final homeowner orientation and walkthrough
- Facilitate change orders
- Collaborate with office staff
- Responsible for scheduling customer orientations: pre-construction, pre-drywall, and post-construction
- Schedules and performs warranty work, and checks in with homeowners periodically during warranty phase
- Utilizing On-Line builder portal: communicate with trade partners and customers, enter daily job log
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and self-start
- Ability to create and maintain construction schedules in online builder portal
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of residential construction techniques with the ability to read and interpret residential construction plans, specifications and technical drawings
- Knowledge of residential building codes, and green building practices
- Displays a high level of detail and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working individually, and as part of a team in a collaborative work environment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Four (4) year college degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- Two (2) years Project Manager experience
- Five (5) years of Construction industry experience
- Familiarity with On-Line builder portal such as Co-Construct, Builder Trend, Procore, or similar
- OSHA 30 preferred
