Summary
As an Environmental Health and Safety Officer at J&J Snack Foods, you will be instrumental in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. This role is vital to our commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship within our operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of workplace environments to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Provide training and resources to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare reports on health and safety performance metrics for management review.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety across the organization.
- Stay updated on environmental regulations and ensure compliance with EPA standards.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving overall workplace safety and employee well-being.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an EHS role within the manufacturing or food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA compliance requirements.
- Excellent report writing skills for documentation of audits and incidents.
- Experience in training development related to health and safety practices.
- Familiarity with workers compensation laws is a plus.
- Certification in CPR or first aid is beneficial but not required.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis.
