Scope:
We are currently seeking a QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN who will be responsible for the physical, chemical, and sensory evaluation of raw, In-process, and finished product. Technician will effectively communicate, document results of testing, assure all products produced comply with MIA Products and customer specifications, and champion the Quality Assurance Department goals of continuous improvement. Additionally, technician will ensure plant Good Manufacturing Practices through audits, communications, and compliance, and will comply with all Food Safety and Quality Systems requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform analysis using analytical and physical equipment to assure compliance to specification
· Monitor process controls for food safety and GMP compliance throughout the facility
· Audit processing equipment and testing instrumentation for proper operation and sanitation
· Evaluate sensory attributes of product against target
· Document results of testing
· Effectively communicate results of test with production workers, supervisors, and managers
· Audit production activities to ensure compliance to specifications, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
· Maintain accurate and detailed process records
· Take samples of raw material, in-process, and finish product as required
· Approach activities proactively to ensure quality the first time
· Responsible for following, performing, and documenting food safety and food quality programs
· Perform all other duties as required and assigned by QA/QC supervisor and Senior Quality Specialist
· Clean and maintain the laboratory
· Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or Senior Quality Specialist

Position Requirements:
- High School graduate of equivalent
- Previous QC experience is a plus
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with investigating product complaints and holds preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand on your feet and work between 8-12 hours per shift
- Must be able to grasp objects and lift up to 50lbs.
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to withstand temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be flexible for occasional weekend hours.
