Position Summary: The Quality Control Compatibility Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the compatibility of packaging materials and bulk products across all stages of product development and manufacturing. This position will involve conducting tests to verify packaging suitability, assessing the stability of filled products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and compliance with customer and regulatory standards. As a technician, you will be responsible for supporting both developmental and manufacturing quality control processes, ensuring that Kolmar USA delivers high-quality products to our customers.

- Experience in a quality control or testing role, preferably within a manufacturing or cosmetics environment.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and their compatibility with bulk products.
- Knowledge of filling and packaging equipment.
- Ability to perform stability tests and evaluate product quality.
- Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software tools.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform thorough testing and analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
- Verify the characteristics of developed bulk and propose suitable packaging options.
- Address any packaging specification issues by communicating promptly with clients to facilitate necessary adjustments.
- Receive finalized bulk and packaging materials and conduct compatibility tests to ensure suitability.
- Evaluate the stability of filled products and ensure that they meet required quality standards.
- Determine the appropriate claim weight of containers based on test results.
- For tube products, determine the correct sleeve length based on product specifications.
- Prepare detailed reports on compatibility tests and line trials.
- Provide filled samples upon client request.
- Propose suitable filling equipment based on product and packaging characteristics.
- Coordinate Line Trials when necessary, particularly when no production history exists or if specifications are difficult to manufacture.
- Cross-check packaging materials received to ensure they match those used during compatibility testing.
- Assist with additional quality-related tasks as directed by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Polymer Engineering, Quality Assurance) is preferred.
- Experience in a quality control or testing role within a manufacturing or regulated environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, filling, and packaging equipment.
- Proficiency with Excel and the ability to perform basic calculations and data analysis.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform manual tasks as needed.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work overtime and Saturdays as required.
