What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bank Teller (Temporary) position at J. Kent Staffing?
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Overview: Our client, a commercial bank in Centennial, is seeking a temporary (potential foot-in-door) Bank Teller. This position reports to the Branch Manager and is the sole teller at the branch. Traffic is moderate. Someone successful in this position will be an excellent communicator, accountable, with a customer service mindset. Previous Teller experience is required.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute or 1-hour unpaid meal break) *the bank closes from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for breaks, but staff don’t need to use the full hour for a break*
- 38.75 – 36.25 hours work week
- Assignment Start: Monday, 5/5/25
- Assignment Length: 2-months with the potential to extend and potential foot-in-door opportunity
Duties:
- Operate a teller cash drawer and process lobby transactions such as deposits and withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, and other transactions
- Maintain working knowledge of the complete line of products and services that the bank offers
- Maintain new and existing accounting by conducting maintenance transactions, closing accounts, and online banking relationships
- Balance cash vault and ordering/selling cash
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping customer information confidential
- Other duties as assigned by Branch Manager
Requirements:
- 1 years’ experience as a Bank Teller in either a commercial or residential bank
- High School Diploma or GED
- Understanding of the different types of transactions (deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, etc.)
- Basic Math
- Ability to learn new banking software system navigation (training provided)
- Highly detail oriented
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
