Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating project costs, preparing detailed proposals, and analyzing blueprints and specifications for industrial construction projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work closely with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Cost Estimates: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Analyze Blueprints and Specifications: Review and interpret project blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to calculate accurate material and labor requirements.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Customers: Work closely with the project management team to gather information and ensure project requirements are well understood.
Obtain Quotes and Bids: Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
Estimate Costs: Calculate material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs to develop accurate cost estimates.
Prepare Bids: Compile and submit project bids and proposals to clients, often based on the cost estimates developed.
Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and assess potential risks associated with each project, including scope changes, delays, and unforeseen issues.
Prepare Detailed Proposals: Develop and present comprehensive proposals and bid documents for clients, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Monitor Project Costs: Track and update cost projections throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the project stays within budget.
Attend Project Meetings: Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid evaluations to gain a thorough understanding of the project's scope and requirements.
Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up to date with industry standards, new technologies, materials, and construction methods that could impact cost and efficiency.
Competencies / Work Style:
Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Expertise in one or more areas of heavy industrial construction.
Ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities
Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
Must be willing to travel occasionally.
Must possess a strong work ethic.
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Knowledge of industry quality, safety, and health guidelines.

Requirements
- High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
- 5 years Industrial Construction Estimating experience
- 10 years Industrial Construction experience
- Proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate-Advanced
- Current TWIC
Background screening, references required. Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
