What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable/Collections Administrator position at J.M. Equipment Company, Inc.?
Summary: To ensure company payments for goods and services are received and record these transactions with exceptional accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process all incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
- Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify posting discrepancies and resolve clients’ payment issues.
- Review/facility daily invoices and monthly statements
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
- Review credit applications and establish new accounts for customers.
- Conduct credit investigations of costumers and potential customers.
- Monitor receivables, collections and provide updates of receivables to management.
- Analyze and call delinquent accounts.
- Negotiate payment programs with delinquent customers.
- Identify accounts requiring collection agency or legal actions and coordinate collections with third party contractors.
- Review requests for credit overrides and enforce company's credit policy
- Reconcile short-pays and inaccurate payments and maintain accurate accounts.
- Maintain bad debt and bad debt recovery records, scan/file/maintain credit department filing system.
- Other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- Accounting/Bookkeeping degree preferred.
- Three years of basic bookkeeping principles/cash application experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
