Construction Project Assistant

Job Summary

J N Properties, LLC is a small, locally owned and operated business focused on providing exceptional rental properties, residential renovations and historic restorations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Assistant to oversee and assist with various construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members. This is a physically active role that will include some construction tasks as well as site-management tasks.

Duties

• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Support subcontractors with materials management
• Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
• Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Utilize software tools like HouzzPro and Google Sheets for project documentation and collaboration.
• Ensure adherence to all contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Additional duties as required specific to project.

Skills

• Moderate knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Morning shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Construction: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• Spanish (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Birmingham, AL 35205 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Birmingham, AL 35205: Relocate before starting work (Required)
