We are looking for a reliable and dependable CDL Licensed Route Supervisor to become a valued employee on our solid waste collection team to support our ongoing success in a family-like environment. S/He will be reporting to our Bridgeport location.
Summary of Job: This position is accountable for the daily allocation of manpower and equipment for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure the highest levels of service, efficiency and safety. Ensures all customers are served in the most efficient manner and at the highest level of service possible. Coordinates with customers, municipalities, companies, and ensures adherence to contracts. Ensures Code, DOT, OSHA compliance. Serves as first point of contact for customer service issues or problems. Supervises route crews in the safe and efficient performance of their duties.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities include the following:
- Manpower allocation:
- Responsible for planning and controlling all services to be performed for all customers in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensures all employees are trained in and follow proper safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for training all dispatchers, drivers and driver’s helpers in terms of proper service level, equipment operation, safety and company policies.
- Responsible for all drivers and driver’s helpers actions while they are working for the company.
- Responsible for daily completion of all routes and production reports, and verifies driver’s log,
- Responsible for route efficiency. When required, will reevaluate routes to ensure efficiency, redistributing the workload if necessary.
- Responsible for daily communications between workers and customers, as well as direct contact with customers.
- Maintains the morale of the work force through professional treatment and supervision.
- Responsible for compliance with all DOT rules and regulations,
- Responsible for compliance with all Risk Management objectives, OSHA regulations, Safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for reporting all service or customer relations problems to the general manager.
- Responsible for creating and summarizing daily operational reports.
- Ensures drivers complete daily pre-trip and post-trip checks, driver’s log and VCR’s,
Coordinating service for vehicles in need of maintenance, breakdowns, etc.
- Customer Service:
- Responsible for all customer service reports and correcting any deficiencies should they arise.
- Ensures the company is represented professionally to all customers.
- Maintains a positive attitude with all customers and employees regardless of the situation.
