Our client, a top-tier Big Law firm, is seeking an experienced JD and Professional Development executive to play a critical role in shaping career development, performance management, and overall growth of attorneys within their corporate practice group. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated attorney with 7-10 years of law firm experience in professional development, talent management or operational leadership role.
This key role will work closely with the firm’s Legal Personnel, Human Resources, and Professional Development teams to align group-specific initiatives with firm-wide goals, including designing and implementing structured career development programs tailored to the Corporate M&A group attorneys. The ideal candidate will also develop, communicate, and enforce policies related to attorney work allocation, professional conduct, and compliance within the group.
The Associate Director will advise attorneys on career trajectories, including progression within the firm and long-term professional goals; Will oversee the performance evaluation process for attorneys within the group, ensuring timely and constructive feedback; Collaborate with partners to identify and address performance challenges while fostering an environment of continuous improvement; Design and execute mentorship programs to support associate growth and retention; Collaborate with partners to assess project requirements and align staffing decisions with business objectives.
JD required, preferably from a top 25 law school, with 7-10 years of law firm experience, with substantial time spent practicing in Corporate M&A or a related field. Demonstrated understanding of law firm operations, including attorney career progression, client service expectations, and professional development needs also required. Compensation includes salary ($220K-$250K ) plus bonus and an exceptional benefits package.
