Summary

Essential Functions

- Prepare federal and state tax filings
- Posting entries to general ledger
- Tax research and memorandums
- Perform services relating to financial statement compilation
- Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records and workpapers
- Participate in firm and departmental initiatives
- Assist with administrative functions as needed
- Supervised client interaction and responsibility

- Technical Skills - Thorough understanding of business and individual tax return concepts (payroll, depreciation, accrual to cash, etc), thorough understanding of financial statement concepts (adjusting journal entries, bank recs, retained earnings, etc)
- Communication Skills - Communicates clearly with clients and JTaylor personnel
- Problem Solving - Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity in thought, addresses questions with a concise answer

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Working toward Bachelor’s in Accounting
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Knowledge of accounting and tax theory
- Ability to establish priorities and perform work in a timely manner
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- 0 – 2 years of work experience
- Advanced level tax and accounting courses
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Position Type
This can be either a full-time or part-time position. Our standard business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Overtime and weekend hours may be required during peak busy seasons.
Travel
Travel may be required on occasion.
