We are seeking a Professional Engineer (Discipline Lead – Traffic). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the leadership and growth of our traffic engineering group, which currently consists of 7 individuals ranging in experience from 0 years to 20 years. This group has consistently grown in its ability to capture and complete quality work, and now needs a leader capable of growing the traffic engineering practice company wide. This position reports to the Technical Resources Lead within the Transportation Services Group (TSG).

Technical Roles
- Lead the traffic engineering technical practice companywide and function as a senior traffic engineering technical resource.
- Work with transportation project managers to provide traffic engineering support and independently manage project discipline/task deliverables.
- Independently conduct and supervise traffic deliverables for private, local, state, and federally funded projects.
- Perform technical quality control/quality assurance for traffic engineering deliverables.
- Represent clients in public meetings or open houses and conduct project meetings.

- Transportation Master Plans
- Traffic Impact Studies
- Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
- Illumination
- Signing and Striping
- Traffic Safety Analysis
- Noise Studies
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Collaborate with TSG Leadership group and lead strategic planning of traffic group operations, market area specific plans, growth models, staffing projections, and team organization.
- Supervise support staff assigned to projects including professional engineers, EIT’s, and other transportation project engineers.
- Manage and distribute workload.
- Mentor and coach staff traffic staff.
- Identify training and computer program needs for technical staff.
- Lead marketing/business development activities for traffic engineering pursuits.
- Support marketing/business development activities for transportation (roadway/design) projects companywide.
- Develop scopes of work, contracts, schedules and budgets for projects.
- Represent clients in public meetings or open houses and conduct project meetings.
- Work to understand J-U-B's internal business line and eventually grow an external market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) desired.
- 20 years of progressive traffic engineering experience.
- Expertise or ability to grow in HCS, Synchro, Sidra, OpenPaths (Cube), Vistro, Visum and, Vissim.
- Proven ability to lead a team and mentor traffic PE’s and EIT’s.
- Proven ability to work with others and to manage project schedules and deliverables.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting multiple offices and teams.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
