SCOPE AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Ensures that goods and services are ordered and in accordance with the specifications, timing and quality requirements for the property. Negotiates purchasing contracts with vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the placement of all orders for food & beverage, hospitality materials, supplies, services, engineering, and capital items.
- Conducts all negotiations and communications with vendors to establish long term relationships based on trust, quality, outstanding service and price.
- Conducts vendor comparisons and maintains quote files.
- Track savings against expected contract performance
- Implements and maintains a plan to identify objectives, vision, and measures for success with top suppliers.
- Monitors supply chain trends in product availability/pricing and recommends appropriate strategies for the organization.
- Maintains and communicates product specification files to ensure that products are approved by the respective department heads and that product price comparisons are equitable.
- Establishes which products will be purchased on a tender process, preferred supplier and ad hoc basis.
- Organizes, maintains, and tracks all property contracts and agreements.
- Works closely with the Warehouse Manager and department heads to determine quantities, order timetables, lead times, storage conditions and delivery times to ensure the needs of the property are met.
- Partners with internal customers to understand sourcing requirements, schedules, and business needs
- Consolidates requests from multiple users to ensure an efficient purchasing operation.
- Supervises, trains, counsels, appraises, motivates purchasing team.
- Ensures that the purchasing process is efficient and resolves problems when they arise.
- Keeps management informed regarding changes in market conditions, future trends, changes in product availability, lead times and price movements.
- Ensures that the purchasing process is in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of Procurement systems and document flow.
- Possess strong problem solving, leadership, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and work well with associates, guests, vendors, and others.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with time management and strong organization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Be at least Twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Be literate and able to communicate in English when dealing with staff and guests.
- Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of procurement leadership experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a casino resort property.
Previous experience and detailed knowledge of food and beverage purchasing required.
Computer literate with knowledge of sophisticated purchasing and accounting systems and strong
knowledge of Excel.
PHYSICAL:
Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management
and other employees while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Must be able to move freely about property.
Must be able to perform repetitive motions and have finger dexterity and visual acuity.
Withstand various activities such as constant sitting and reaching and constant walking and
standing.

Valid Gaming Sheriffs Card, Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Driver’s License and Purchasing
