What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waterside Pool Cocktail Server - Seasonal position at J W Marriott?
Role: Specialty Servers serve food and drinks to customers at the bars, cabanas and pool deck areas, process payments, according to the J W Marriott standards; and to perform job responsibilities satisfactorily and to according to department standards. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age, must have 1-2 years of hotel serving experience, must possess a positive attitude and work well with others team members. Resort Pool serving experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
- Valid Clark County Health Card,
- Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card
MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Organizes, cleans and maintains beverage station, side stations and proper storage areas and all supplies that support daily duties.
- Must be able to operate point of sale system.
- Must ensure that all food and beverage orders are rung up/charged for in micros.
- Must be able to maintain guest focus while performing duties.
- Must be able to take orders from guests for food and beverage.
- Must be able to serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the J W Marriott Las Vegas standard.
- Record drink orders accurately and immediately after providing a receipt into the register system.
- Accept guest payment, process credit card, room, account, department charges.
- Must be able to follow direction and ask questions for clarifications.
- Must be able to assist guests with beverage and food menu options.
- Restocks Supplies / Replenish Bar area as needed to service the guest though out work shift.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to management.
- Associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.

Work is performed in a Resort Pool environment and in other locations throughout the property. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud.
