Our multi-disciplined team performs assessments of existing buildings to diagnose performance issues and structural damage. Next, we provide repair scopes and design documents to effectively restore buildings. Then, we provide bidding and pre-construction services, work closely with contractors, and provide contract administration to guide owners through the repair process. We specialize in residential and commercial building envelope work ranging from apartments and condominiums to commercial and high-end residential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex and large-scale building envelope projects. This role involves direct management of project lifecycles, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The SPM serves as a key leader within the project management team, supervising and mentoring junior project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure consistent project success and team development.

Key responsibilities include maintaining strong client relationships, managing high-value projects, and driving business development efforts to support company growth. The SPM is expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, oversee project risk assessments, and develop solutions to address challenges. The role requires advanced knowledge of building envelope systems, strong leadership skills, and effective communication abilities to ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.

The SPM also plays a critical role in team development, fostering accountability, and promoting a culture of excellence within the project management group.

Key Role and Responsibilities

1. Strategic Project Management & Leadership :

Lead and oversee the execution of multiple building envelope projects, ensuring that all phases are completed according to company standards and client expectations.Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, budget management, and timeline creation for complex, multi-phase projects.Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns at every project stage.Implement project management best practices and set performance benchmarks for project teams.Review and approve project specifications, proposals, and technical reports for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.

2. Team Management & Mentorship :

Supervise and mentor a team of Project Manager (Levels 1-3), providing guidance, support, and professional development.Assign resources, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure that project teams meet their objectives and deliverables.Conduct regular project team meetings to assess project progress, address challenges, and realign strategies as needed.Develop training programs and opportunities for team members to enhance their technical skills and project management capabilities.

3. Client Relationship Management :

Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor on all building envelope-related matters.Conduct regular client meetings to review project status, manage expectations, and ensure that project goals are aligned with client objectives.Address and resolve complex client issues and escalations in a timely and professional manner.Promote a customer-focused culture within the project management team, encouraging proactive communication and responsiveness.

4. Financial Oversight & Profitability :

Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure that all projects are delivered within financial parameters.Review project financials regularly to identify potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.Contribute to the development and implementation of pricing strategies for high-value projects.Conduct post-project financial reviews to assess profitability, evaluate budget variances, and apply insights to future project planning.

5. Risk Management & Quality Assurance :

Identify potential risks and develop comprehensive mitigation plans to minimize project disruptions.Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and client expectations.Conduct project audits and implement corrective actions to address any identified quality issues.Ensure compliance with all local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

6. Business Development & Strategic Initiatives :

Collaborate with senior leadership to identify business development opportunities and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.Lead or support the preparation of high-value project proposals and presentations for new clients.Participate in industry events, conferences, and client meetings to expand the firm's network and visibility.Support marketing efforts by contributing to technical content creation, case studies, and promotional materials.

7. Reporting & Documentation :

Prepare and present high-level project status reports to senior management, providing insights into project performance, resource utilization, and financial outcomes.Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, change orders, risk assessments, and meeting notes.Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.A minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in the building envelope or construction consulting industry.Proven experience managing and mentoring project teams, with a demonstrated ability to lead staff and oversee complex projects.

Leadership & Communication

Strong leadership, mentorship, and team management skills, with a track record of inspiring and developing high-performing teams.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present confidently to diverse audiences (virtual and in-person).Proven ability to maintain and strengthen client relationships, manage client expectations, and navigate high-pressure scenarios.

Technical Skills

Advanced knowledge of building envelope systems, including roofing, waterproofing, cladding, insulation, and fenestration.Strong understanding of building science, construction standards, and applicable codes and regulations at the local, state, and national levels.Proficiency in project management software (e.g., BQE Core, HubSpot), with financial acumen to manage budgets and forecasts effectively.Experience with sustainability practices (e.g., LEED accreditation or energy-efficient building methods) is preferred.

Problem Solving & Decision-Making

Demonstrated ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks, resolve challenges, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Strategic thinker with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, balancing technical requirements, client needs, and organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Construction Project Management Professional certification or equivalent.Experience with litigation support or forensic investigation related to building envelope issues.Familiarity with advanced building envelope technologies and materials. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting, as well outdoors for site inspections.The role may require periodic travel to attend meetings, conferences, or events.The employee may need to collaborate with other departments, external agencies, and vendors in both virtual and in-person settings.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel and attend meetings at various offices and project sites as needed.Must be able to perform site inspections.Willingness and ability to perform observation and evaluation tasks in elevated and exposed conditions.Willingness and ability to perform observation and evaluation tasks in narrow, shallow, or confined conditions.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and photocopiers.Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.Visual acuity for reviewing detailed designs, reporting, and other analysis duties.
