Why this job – STAFF ACCOUNTANT:
Join a dynamic and collaborative accounting team as a Staff Accountant where you'll play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accurate accounting for property-related transactions, and upholding compliance with financial regulations. Working closely with the Controller, you will also collaborate with property managers and cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Process invoices and expense reports
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist the Controller with month-end closing activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, and assist with financial statements
- Work with property managers to develop and monitor budgets for properties
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Real Estate, Property Accounting, or Construction experience required
- Strong GL experience is needed
- Month-end close experience
- Small business/Start-up experience a plus
- Experience with Property Management software preferred – Yardi/AppFolio
- QuickBooks experience a plus
- Intermediate Excel skills
- A proactive self-starter eager to learn and grow
Where and How Much:
- Target Compensation $70K - $80K
