Why this job – VP CONTROLLER:
We’ve partnered with a fast-growing global organization in the science-tech industry to help them find a VP Controller. This key leader will oversee one site in Bozeman and two international locations, managing all aspects of accounting and finance.
In the early stages, the primary focus will be to integrate processes and software across all sites, driving efficiency and optimizing company performance. This role also involves leading and supporting Site Controllers at each location who manage day-to-day accounting operations.
This is a rare opportunity to impact a global company while being based locally. Although headquartered in Bozeman, this role includes monthly international travel to collaborate with teams on-site and ensure alignment across regions.
With ambitious growth plans on the horizon, the VP Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company’s future success.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Integrate financial systems and deliver a consolidated financial package for the parent company.
- Manage and mentor Site Controllers across multiple subsidiaries.
- Oversee treasury and tax functions, including external accounting relationships.
- Develop and implement SOPs and KPIs to improve efficiency.
- Prepare 3-part financial statements for executive leadership.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, Board members, and investors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and European reporting standards.
- Support M&A activities, including valuations and due diligence.
- Manage DCAA audits and U.S. Government programs like SBIR & STTR.
- Assist with U.S. defense program audits and related reporting.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred but not required
- 5 years experience
- Strong ERP Experience (QuickBooks/Sage/SAP preferred but not required)
- Advanced Excel experience
- Experience creating new processes from scratch
- Experience integrating financials and creating consolidated financials
Where and How Much:
- Target Compensation $140-$155K plus discretionary bonus plus potential stock options
- Hybrid role in Bozeman, MT with monthly international travel
