A JAB Recruitment client is expanding their UK operation into the US market. They are seeking a Business Development Sales Consultant to work on a part-time basis.

Business Development Sales Consultant - North America


We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Sales Consultant - North America to add to our sales efforts in the Energy Transition Sector, working in both the traditional energy market as well as potential renewables customers.


The successful candidate will have a strong network in the Oil and Gas sectors, predominantly in the rental, integration and OEM markets. The candidate will have 10 years or more proven experience in sales or business development. You will be responsible for securing sales enquiries, driving revenue growth, developing customer relationships, chasing orders and providing technical expertise to help customers understand and implement our products solutions.


This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strategic planning. This position will require normal business travel within North America and on occasions to the UK but not exclusively.


In this role, you will liaise with the Global Head of Business Development and the CEO with support from our marketing and engineering team. The Sales Representative - North America, will provide key insights into North American market conditions to facilitate the completion of annual business development strategy and business plans.


Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following);


  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market growth objectives in North America.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, including lead generation, prospecting, and follow up.
  • Forecast sales performance and provide feedback to allow tracking of sales metrics (e.g., pipeline, conversion rates, quarterly results and annual forecasts).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, and influencers.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through effective use of the CRM system in relation to the assigned accounts, ensuring up to date deal and activity information in the system.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, product demonstrations, and technical proposals to potential customers.
  • Respond to potential client requests for quotations (RFQ’s) and assist UK team in reviewing proposals
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to ensure customer requirements are aligned with company offerings and to develop custom solutions when necessary.
  • Generation of new business leads through market research, networking, and outreach to potential customers.
  • Provide a communication conduit to potential clients, helping them understand the benefits, challenges, and feasibility of the company’s energy solutions, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in North America.
  • Provide insights and feedback to inform product development, marketing campaigns, and strategic planning.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, regulations, and competitor activities within the North American market.
  • Contribute to the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives and managing the customer’s expectations in this regard.
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on account and opportunity status.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative, Business Development Executive, or other relevant role in the subsea sector.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Strong understanding of North American business culture and market dynamics.
  • Ability to analyze customers’ Key Issues and articulate these to the engineering and BD team to oversee the creation of relevant and persuasive proposal documents for customers.
  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel).
  • Active member of the Houston subsea community with a strong network of contacts and relationships to bring to the role.
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MBA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field would be desirable but not essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy), or related field would be desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to travel within North America as needed.
