General Summary
The Software Developer works with the internal IT / IS team to develop, deploy, and maintain applications and systems that support the company's broadband Internet and voice network as well as other backend and corporate system and data needs. This role works with IT / IS leadership and representatives from other departments to document requirements and test resulting applications and improvements and ensure that all applications and systems are maintained in a healthy lifecycle. Rise Broadband is primarily an Enterprise Linux environment and operates a facilities-based network with some ancillary cloud-based applications.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Utilizes company-specific programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic, data manipulation and supportability.
Consults with senior developers and IT architect where company-specific standards and techniques lack guidance for specific development needs.
Works with the IT / IS team and internal business partners to design, code, test, debug, and configure software.
Provides documentation for all development work and any changes made to applications, configurations, workflows, or other aspects of the IT / IS environment such that others may follow the documentation to support, troubleshoot and apply future changes.
Follows company and department change management practices to ensure that all change is documented, peer-reviewed, communicated, scheduled, and executed in a manner that promotes success and minimizes disruption to the business.
Coordinates software development projects : plans and execute software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.
Collaborates on alternative systems and software designs.
Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages.
Develops technical methodologies for engineering solutions to software development problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a computer related field and / or three (3) years of equivalent experience in computer science, programming and full stack development required.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft, and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of standards-based XHTML, L and CSS, JSON, YAML, XML, REST.
Strong technical experience including MySQL administrations, software design, Apache Web Server, and shell scripting.
Knowledge of programming languages including Python, PHP, Perl, JavaScript.
Knowledge of GIT and Software Documentation.
Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes.
Experience of CRM systems development (SugarCRM / Salesforce).
Experience working following the SDLC in Agile environments.
Familiarity with reporting tools like looker / tableau.
Experience with EXTJS, Portainer, Rancher, Galera, Kafka preferred.
Ability to work in a team and prioritize projects.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to work with confidential information in a secure and professional way.
Customer service oriented with passion for high customer satisfaction and achieving operational excellence; ability to speak with all levels of staff, internal and external customers.
Ability to analyze and define problems, prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible.
Occasionally requires weekend and / or evening work and some travel may be required.

Employee remains in the sitting position for prolonged hours. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee will regularly be required to work in tight spaces, under desks, in closets, equipment racks, overhead cable management, ceilings and under raised floors
Working conditions may include being in an open (shared) cubicle / workspace area.
