Position Summary

Collect, process, analyze, document, and communicate business requirements and support user testing to achieve business goals. This person will collaborate with IT professionals to determine if appropriate internal or external solutions currently exist, or whether new solutions are required and their feasibility. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to interpret complex data and communicate actionable insights. Business Systems Analysts are responsible for proactively identifying opportunities that support the company’s strategies, goals, and performance.

Essential Functions

• Cooperate with employees and customers to develop superior technology-driven solutions.
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Gather data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems.
• Clean, preprocess, and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Use statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights from data.
• Create dashboards, charts, and visualizations to present data insights clearly.
• Develop regular and ad hoc reports for stakeholders, summarizing findings.
• Translate complex data results into actionable recommendations.
• Utilize tools like Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis.
• Work with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, SSRS Reports, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Implement predictive models or machine learning algorithms (when applicable).
• Protect user confidence and operations by maintaining information confidentiality.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team effort by completing ad hoc tasks as necessary.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other relevant area is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
• A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills. Required background in Microsoft Stack applications, including SQL database management and querying. Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools. Understand IT principles and be able to communicate technical concepts effectively to an audience with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to employee and customer needs.
