What are the responsibilities and job description for the Count Room Representative (4:45AM Shift Start) - Part Time position at JACK Cleveland Casino?
Role Responsibilities:
- Counts, sorts and organizes all money, coupons, chips and paperwork from the drop boxes.
- Lifts and displays empty drop boxes to Surveillance personnel and/or fellow team members.
- Retrieves drop boxes from the storage area and appropriately stores all boxes.
- Inserts and removes currency from counting machines; runs the machines.
- Straps and hand-stamps money bundles.
- Totals all cash, chips and coupons by shift and by day/date.
- Enters necessary information into the computer.
- Loads appropriate boxes into carts and pushes/pulls carts to designated areas for transportation to the casino floor.
- When a slot machine is being played at the time of a slot machine drop, uses excellent guest service skills to assure the guest’s satisfaction.
- Accounts for all keys used to perform slot machine drops.
- Weighs/counts individual buckets and records weighed buckets into the scale with proper machine numbers.
- Verifies wrap totals; researches and explains variances.
- Pulls bill validator boxes, insuring each box is accounted for before and after the drop.
- Completes all paperwork accurately and delivers it to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
- Is responsible for the loading of coin/currency and count of dropped funds for all the casino floor ticket redemption kiosks.
- Counts Slot Operations emergency drops.
- Maintains Count Room in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Follows safety and security guidelines and adheres to department procedures.
- Performs emergency drops of bill validators.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
- Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 6 months previous money handling experience
- Previous experience in performing detailed work preferred
- Literate and fluent in basic English
- Excellent Math Skills
- Basic computer skills (excel skills are necessary)
- Basic trouble-shooting skills
- Must be able to perform tasks with high efficiency and accuracy
- Above average organizational abilities for sorting money, chips, coupons and other paper work by table number
- Ability to work in a small area with the same people for extended periods of time
- Must be 21 years of age.
License Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Gaming Occupational License within the State of Ohio, which includes a comprehensive background investigation.
