Summary :
The Payroll Administrator i s responsible to accurately and efficiently process payrolls for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, hours worked; sales volume, bonuses, and commissions; monies to be withheld for taxes; employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans; etc., from time sheets and other records.
- Updates HRIS records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions and / or transfer of employees between departments. Also updates employee personal information as needed.
- Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy and posts to payroll records.
- Records payroll batches and month end payroll accruals i n General Ledger.
- Prepares and issues paychecks.
- Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- Handles all Regulatory and Compliance Reporting, such as Payroll tax returns, W2's, and ACA reporting.
- Prepares / files all hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
- Tracks employee time off. Prepares and posts accrual for PTO in the General Ledger.
- Responds to employment verifications and other agency inquiries.
- Processes the following in coordination with the Human Resource Manager :
Employee insurance forms and insurance payments

Work Environment :
The Payroll Administrator works at a desk in an office setting for most of the shift. S / he will spend the day analyzing dealership records, various forms of paperwork, data entry and speaking on the phone.
