What do we expect of our JJ’s Jam Teachers & Educators?
JJ’s Jam Summer Program is part of Jack & Jill Early Childhood Learning for children entering Kindergarten through age twelve at both our Saint Anthony & Blaine locations. Our summer program has roughly 140 children per day between the two sites.
We strive to provide the best possible care for our children. We attend multiple field trips per week and contract with a local bussing company. All meals are provided via our commercial kitchen. We have enclosed playgrounds for active play while on-site. We provide full classrooms for each age group complete with 3D Printers, board games, art supplies, smart boards, and more to carry out the curriculum & activities on-site. No outside supplies or planning are required for our classrooms. We have a complete art program, makerspace program, and sports curriculum that includes all supplies provided. No outside planning or supplies are required!
We are looking for individuals who want to work with children and are willing to be active & engaged both on-site and off-site on field trips. We are looking for both seasonal full time and part time educators for our summer program. A background with children, education, psychology, or similar field is preferred. We have mentor staff with four-year degrees in education who will work with our summer school age teachers to help them grow as educators and individuals. Our program runs from the beginning of June through the end of August, but you may start earlier as your schedule allows. Expectations
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment to ensure the safety of equipment and materials.
- Provide age-appropriate supervision and discipline in accordance with the State of MN Rule 3 guidelines.
- Implement the JJ’s Jam Program rules & curriculum.
- Supervision of children both inside & outside.
- Teachers work with groups of children or one-on-one, depending on the type of activity/field trip.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers & parents on the day-to-day activities and behaviors of the children in your care.
- Understanding a child’s emotional and psychological well being
- Patient, giving and responsible.

JJ’s Jam is a community-built program from the ground up. Most of our children in our school age program have attended Jack & Jill since they were infants.
