Job Title : Senior Estimator

Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a bid list and coordinating resources to ensure all estimates are assigned, and accurate quantity take-offs are created. These comprehensive quantity estimates are for Division 9 finishes (metal stud framing, drywall hang and finish, insulation, painting, acoustical ceilings, millwork and / or casework) of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of construction materials and methods, and the ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Bid List Management : Intake all bid requests and utilize decision matrix to determine in-house or external take-off service.
- Estimate Preparation : Assign or prepare detailed and accurate quantity estimates for Division 9 finishes, including but not limited to drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, and specialty finishes.
- Manage and Coordinate : Manage and coordinate outsourced and internal estimating resources
- Project Analysis : Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop a clear understanding of project scope and requirements.
- Project Review : Review and collaborate with Project Management team to hand off for strategic bid pricing.
- Establish and Manage to Goals : Establish bid volume and accuracy goals and build a team to ensure the goal is met or exceeded.
- Manage Estimating Team : Hire, fire, and train estimating team in-house to achieve business goals.
- Risk Assessment : Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities in project plans and specifications. Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Documentation : Prepare and present detailed quantity take-offs, cost summaries, and bid proposals. Maintain organized records of all estimates and supporting documentation.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in construction technology. Participate in professional development opportunities.
