Jacko Logistics is seeking a dedicated and experiences Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Vancouver, WA. We are looking for someone who is an expert problem solver, has amazing communication skills, and is willing to go above and beyond to ensure our teams are feeling supported. Responsibilities:
- Managing the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training
- Ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for drivers and vehicles
- Managing compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and other industry-specific requirements
- Handling employee relations issues, such as conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
- Providing support and guidance to employees on HR-related matters
- Managing employee feedback and grievance processes
- Assisting employees with benefit-related questions and issues
- Overseeing performance evaluation processes for truck drivers, office staff, and other employees
- Providing feedback, coaching, and performance improvement plans as needed
- Handling HR administration tasks, such as maintaining employee records and updating HR systems
- Managing unemployment claims, employee leaves of absence, and ensuring compliance with all Washington State labor laws
- Must have experience managing unemployment claims in Washington State
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Experience working in human resources, preferably in a specialist role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management
- Certification such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred
