Lot Attendant/Detail/Shuttle Driver
PURPOSE:
Cleaning of new and used vehicles. Run errands when needed (i.e., pickup customers, mail, deliver parts, etc. ) Maintain a tidy lot. Move and park cars as needed. Drive shuttle van for service as needed. Wash service customers cars as needed. Make sure each customer’s car is returned thoroughly clean.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Wash vehicle exterior using cleaning solutions as directed by the Detail Manager.
Vacuum vehicle, clean rugs, windows, etc. as directed by the Detail Manager.
Be available for spot delivery of new and used cars and customer clean-ups.
Keep vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed by sales manager and in accordance with dealership display standards.
This includes lot alignment, lot maintenance (general & seasonal clean up, sweeping,
picking up garbage, putting up decorations)
Deliver and pick up customers in a prompt and polite manner.
To be able to report to the Detail Department Manager during assigned hours.
To be aware of and report to the D.D.M, any area of concern as far as supplies, equipment, or other problem areas concerning the care and delivery of a quality product.
To be aware of and report to a member of management any or hazardous condition deemed as an emergency.
To work in a harmonious relation with fellow co-workers.
To be aware of the importance of exceeding our customers’ expectations of delivery condition of vehicle.
When a truck load of vehicles arrive, you will verify serial numbers against invoices.
Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoices, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment.
Report to your manager any damage or missing items.
Park new vehicles in assigned areas.
Take pictures of vehicles in inventory & upload to our website.
Assist in doing a monthly inventory of new/used vehicles as directed by the Office Manager.
During winter months keep doorways shoveled, sanded and cleared. Also you may be asked to clear snow and ice from cars on lot.
Transport customers as requested by Sales & Service Managers.
Communicate with service staff to coordinate customer rides.
Duties may also include picking up and delivering of parts, personnel, and paperwork as required by other dealership departments.
Perform tasks as directed by Sales or Service Manager (emptying trash containers or any other task that will assist in the smooth flow of the company.)
OTHER DUTIES:
Keep show room floor vehicles clean.
Utilize spare time.
Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Valid in-state driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
Manual dexterity.
Must be able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
Good judgment.
Ability to use hand and power tools and other machinery safely.
Acceptance by the dealership’s insurance company as required.
Demonstrate professional personal behavior, dress properly and interact with fellow employees in a
positive manner.
