Title: Seasonal Worker V - Head Camp Counselor
Location: Blue Springs, MO.
Grade: 099NM
Salary: $17.00/hour
Job Duties:
- Responsible for supervising all camp counselors.
- Responsible for correcting camper conflict when unit counselors or assistant head counselor are unable to, following camp policies and procedures.
- Maintain written documents on all discipline issues brought to the Head Counselor and submit copies to the Camp Director.
- Responsible for staff training and staff scheduling.
- Communicate issues relating to staff to Camp Director.
- Assist in organization of camp materials, first aid materials, medications.
- Attend Field trips as the main point person.
- Be a constant encourager and role model for staff and campers, exhibiting a calm manner in the midst of camper or staff conflict.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organization skills.
- Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week).
- First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp.
- Lifeguard certification desired.
- Previous camp experience required.
- Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
