High School Teaching Position
Education Requirements
- Earned a two-year college degree (associate's degree) or higher from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Validated technology competency by attaining the established minimum score or higher on an assessment approved by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), such as IC3 or other approved substitute.
- At least two years of verifiable occupational experience in the past ten years, appropriate to the subject to be taught, unless holding a standard five-year license.
- Passing score on a Welding Assessment: TOCA at RCU-Welding, American Welding Society (AWS) Certification, or NCCER welding assessment, including successful completion of seven test plates out of fourteen.
- Enrollment in Vocational Instructor Preparation (VIP) program and completion of individualized professional development plan (PDP) requirements prior to Career & Technical license expiration date.
Additional Requirements
- NCCER Instructor Certification.
- Certification for online learning workshop, module, or course approved by the Mississippi Department of Education.
- Welding Certification workshop, module, or course approved by the Mississippi Department of Education.
