Education/Experience: :
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, public relations, mass communications or related field. One year of related work experience.
Skills/Abilities: :
Strong communication and human relations skills are required. Experience with web content management systems, social media platforms, public speaking, and other communications is preferred. Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner. Must have experience with Microsoft Office software.
Certifications/Licenses: :
None.
Physical Demands: :
The ability to use a computer keyboard effectively. The ability to safely operate a standard equipped JEA motor vehicle. The ability to orally communicate by phone and person to person. The ability to see/read printed material. Ambulatory.
Work Environment: :
Mostly indoor office conditions with occasional outdoor work.
Driving: :
Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee Class “D” license.
Telephone: :
Must maintain an operating telephone and provide the number to his/her supervisor.

Essential Functions:
- Coordinates the planning and involvement of Jackson Energy Authority in various community events throughout the year.
- Establishes a working budget per event, and monitors dollars allocated. :
- Recruits volunteers and staffing for each event. :
- Coordinates Jackson Energy Authority’s PIE Program and monitors dollars allocated.
- Responsible for planning, hosting, and production of Six in the City, a weekly talk show for EPlusTV 6 and other various shows for EPlusTV 6.
- Coordinates weekly recordings and ad spots for WeatherNow.
- Prepares and updates recordings for the on-hold customer message system.
- Prepares and updates messages for Weather Channel Crawl.
- Monitors/responds to customer social media posts and website requests.
- Serves as contributor, photographer, and proofer for company newsletter and other marketing communications.
- Prepares billing for EPlusTV 6 such as church programming, production, etc.
- Prepares budget data for area of responsibility. :
- Budgets for items in company store and works with various vendors. Maintains and oversees the purchase of items for company store. Manages inventory and monthly reports.
- Assists with developing working plans to best place our name and branding in the community.
- Assists with the planning and development of creative campaigns for Jackson Energy Authority and its individual product lines.
- Assists Communications Manager with media. Facilitates interviews and press releases as needed. Creates and maintains positive relationships with media representatives.
- Assists in the scheduling of deadlines and materials used within any given campaign.
- Assists Director of Marketing in reviewing requests for sponsorships and monitoring dollars allocated and serves as the contact for associated requests.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of all coordinated programs.
- Assists department employees with promotional products as necessary.
- Cross trains with employees within the department. :
- Assists others in department with various needs. :
