Description
The GATE Program Mentor will provide mentoring for the GATE Program for Juvenile Weapons Offenders curriculum. In collaboration with the GATE Team, this position will monitor client enrollment and participation to ensure program objectives are completed by the end of the course. Direct responsibilities include assistance in providing education to clients and families/guardians concerning the GATE program and expectations, assistance with initial client intake and /or paperwork required, accompany clients as needed to and from classes/field trips, and assistance with participant graduation(s).
Qualifications
Experience: Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
Education: High school diploma is required.
Licensure Certification: Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Knowledge Skill Abilities: Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
