Summary
The Process Improvement Manager Level 1 at Jackson Health System contributes to strategic plans through performance improvement activities in operational and clinical areas with minimal supervision. They drive projects by conducting assessments, performing statistical analyses, facilitating teams, presenting results, and developing measurement tools to enhance operations. This role requires excellent organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities. They function as part of the Strategic Performance team, accountable for team outcomes, and assist department management in processing confidential information.
Responsibilities
- Leads the culture change needed for an effective Lean process improvement system by directing, planning, implementing, analyzing, and utilizing the methods and essential tools of Lean.
- Champions a culture of Stakeholder Empowerment through the design and implementation of a robust Lean education program.
- Assists organizational leaders in making Lean strategies actionable within individual departments.
- Collaborates with executive champions, process owners, and improvement teams to identify Lean projects that will reduce errors, defects, and never events to improve patient safety and quality of care.
- Directs and implements Lean initiatives and strategies to optimize operational performance, productivity, and profitability by reducing or eliminating overproduction, waste, rework, delay, and process variation.
- Challenges the status quo and encourages break-through thinking to ensure Lean and continuous improvement principles are implemented in a manner that supports patient and family-centered care.
- Drives cultural transformation by applying Lean system thinking across all strategic initiatives.
- Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise).
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field is required
Credentials
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
