Summary
The Director, Health Economics and Data Intelligence is a highly analytical and strategic leader responsible for optimizing financial performance. This role demands a deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement, payer mix, case mix, and the evolving healthcare landscape. The Director will lead a team of analysts and collaborate with stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions and enhance margin.
Responsibilities
Economic Modeling & Decision Support:
- Develops and maintains complex economic models to evaluate financial impact.
- Analyzes data for cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Models impacts of reimbursement changes.
- Develops pricing strategies and evaluate program viability.
- Provides data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
- Develops dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs.
- Conducts scenario planning.
- Generates analyses and reports, simplifying comprehensive research and data into actionable recommendations that aid decision-making.
Payer & Case Mix Optimization:
- Analyzes trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develops strategies to optimize payer mix, including service growth recommendations.
- Collaborates to improve case mix.
- Analyze financial impacts.
Margin Improvement:
- Analyzes factors affecting margins.
- Develops strategies to improve margins.
- Collaborates on cost-effective clinical pathways.
- Monitors initiatives.
- Assesses projects and initiatives based on quantitative and qualitative data and provides recommendations on courses of action.
Population Health Analytics:
- Analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develops and implement population health management strategies.
- Collaborates on evidence-based care protocols.
- Evaluate program effectiveness.
BI Dashboards:
- Oversees development and maintenance of BI dashboards.
- Ensures accuracy and user-friendliness.
- Uses dashboards to identify trends.
- Communicate insights to stakeholders.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Leads and mentors a team of analysts.
- Collaborates with stakeholders.
- Communicates complex information.
- Stays abreast of industry trends.
- Guides decision-makers to prioritize projects and programs to properly plan and control the enterprise project portfolio.
Critical Project Support:
- Guide and oversee the team's support of critical projects, including initiatives related to healthcare revenue cycle transparency and data submissions for payer performance scorecards, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
- Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
- Management experience is required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Credentials
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
