Position Overview
The Events Manager is responsible for the scheduling, planning, organizing and overall execution of JHMR events to meet all departmental goals in line with overarching JHMR initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate or establish event parameters and timelines.
- Ensure the smooth completion of each event by overseeing the function, scheduling efficient use of facilities, and coordinating the role of each department or organization involved.
- Plan, execute, promote, manage, and attend special events organized by the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
- Execute events within prescribed budgets as developed in coordination with the Vice President of Marketing.
- Manage the JHMR event schedule and calendar.
- Oversee Race & Events Crew Manager and team to execute events, including personnel management of Race & Events Crew Manager. Oversee hiring, performance management and support other personnel management tasks of the Race & Events Crew.
- Manage Events Specialist including all personnel management tasks of hiring, performance management, etc. for this role.
- Attend staff meetings of other departments involved in the production of special events, as needed for successful Event execution.
- Provide a detailed evaluation and report of the financial and promotional value of each event to assist with Event analysis for future seasons.
- Work with the Marketing and Communication departments to ensure proper media coverage and exposure for events.
- Serve as a liaison to the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and other appropriate community groups to lend support and expertise as needed with the planning and overseeing of local events.
- Complete contracts and billing process for all events.
- Act as a Team Leader to help assist operational departments that may need additional help during peak periods. This role would identify the proper staff members and assign them to the proper work details as needed.
- Ensure all insurance and event liability tasks are completed prior to event activation by working in coordination with Risk & Safety Director. Coordinate the preparation, approval, production and manufacture of event related logos, artwork, literature, programs, invitations banners, etc.
- Maintain the inventory of all event materials which include but are not limited to banners, event collateral, fencing, tents, props, prizes, etc.

- Excellent computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of a resort operation.
- Ability to work within a predesignated budget.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality Management a plus, but not required
- Minimum 2 year in Event Management or related field.

Preferred, but not required:
- Minimum 3 year in Event Management, preferably in ski resort operations, ski race competition management, or another related field.
- Previous experience in resort operations
- Strong working knowledge of JHMR operations.
- Ability to operate a snowmobile.
- TIPS certification or ability to gain a TIPS certification.
