Position Title: Group Sales and Services Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales
Department: Sales/GE
Classification: Full Time Year-Round
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Solicit, sell and manage local, regional, national, and international Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) groups on a year-round basis. Develop group business to align with all JHMR initiatives with the emphasis on a positive group guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for all aspects of group sales for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort as it pertains to group lift ticket sales, ski/snowboard rentals, Mountain Sports School (MSS) and other on-mountain activities and services.
· Manage sales of all catering events including: wedding/social events, corporate group events, ski club functions and other catering events
· Promote and sell JHMR products and services, including lift tickets, rentals, MSS activities, retail and catering functions to local, regional, national and international groups and special events.
· Prepare cost estimates, proposals and bids for JHMR group products and venues in a timely and professional manner.
· Implement and manage leads to track all inquiries and follow up to ensure regular contact.
· Actively solicit existing and new accounts and promptly respond to all inquiries.
· Sell and coordinate all aspects of group programs to increase revenue and ensure group guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience, from the initial inquiry and sale to the final billing.
· Sell JHMR catering products and venues to increase revenue.
· Complete group contracts and manage complete contracting process and follow-up.
· Once catering event is contracted, coordinate with F&B Catering Manager for execution of site visits, BEOs and other events to ensure successful execution of catering functions.
· Maintain accurate records, coordinate billing with F&B team, and process payments including deposits and reconcile group bills with the accounting department in a timely manner
· Coordinate with lodging entities to share lodging options with groups.
· Manage summer and winter programming as needed
· Strategize with Director of Sales to develop and execute group sales and marketing plan to secure group business throughout the year including digital, print, and social media channels.
· Work with the Marketing department to produce sales and marketing materials for wedding, social and regional/national groups.
· Maintain accurate communications, group reports and databases
· Maintain, strengthen, and coordinate community relationships focusing on (but not limited to) regional groups, bus tours and wedding/social occasions.
· Sell and process group lift ticket and activity orders in RTP. Distribute and adjust tickets as needed.
· Provide detailed reporting and analytics for group business when needed.
· Represent JHMR at travel and trade shows as needed.
· Participate in local travel industry familiarization (FAM) tours.
· Shared Sales duties as needed
· Special projects as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with close attention to details.
· Strong promotional and sales skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficient computer skills to learn new software programs.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Working knowledge of resort operations.
· Ability to work in a variety of situations requiring adaptability and flexibility.
· Valid driver’s license
TRAVEL
Travel required but will be minimal, approximately 7-12 days per year. Travel may be local, domestic, or international. Travel may occur by car, bus, or airplane and will require overnight stays.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
· Minimum 2 years business experience working with high profile clients.
· Minimum 2 years in Sales, Event Management, or related field.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hospitality Management.
· Previous Experience in group sales/catering and marketing
· Previous experience in resort operations
· Working knowledge of RTP software
· Strong working knowledge of JHMR operations.
