Assistant Buyer

Hours: 1st Shift: (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Starting Wages: $14.50 to $16 per hour

Specific Responsibilities:

· Release and packet jobs for the production floor, delivering them as required to respective departments

· Maintain, Create and update BOM’s as needed

· Assists with systems support

· Responsible for robust data entry when required and creation of new skus and related tasks.

· Reduce Slow Moving/Obsolete items

· Create and maintain Purchase Orders with drive to reduce overall costs and inventory using Infor’s Workbench for Commodities assigned

· Create and maintain Purchase Orders based on demand from Infor for assigned commodities

· Create and maintain planning parameters as they pertain to commodities assigned, i.e., safety stock, days of supply, etc.

· Review Past Due/Exceptions Report and take action as required

· Work with Inventory team to ensure deliveries satisfy production requirements

· Manage cost of deliveries for responsible purchase commodities by sourcing and contacting new vendors when required.

· Accurately keep track of responsible inventory via necessary instruments such as cycle counts, etc.

· Notify Management when we have expected delays, looking for solutions available

· Work with Operations, R&D, Sales and Marketing to input information and ideas to reduce cost and excess inventory

· Manage and Place MRO PO’s

Qualifications:

· Strong Infor Skills Helpful and a Desire to Learn the components of Supply Chain

· Will consider knowledge in the company and 3 years of experience in the industry in lieu of formal education

· Experience utilizing Advanced Excel Skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.

MRP system skills (Infor)

· Ability to Multitask

· Excellent communication and organization skills

· Strong negotiating skills

· Experience with researching/ introducing Cost Reduction Initiative

Skills and Experience Preferred:

• INFOR Cloud suite Industrial experience
• ASCM Certification – CPIM
• Experience in the outdoor market - helpful

Work Environment

· Workers are required to wear safety gear, such as safety glasses, Steel toed shoes, and often recommended or required to wear safety gear such as, gloves, while on the manufacturing floor. Depending on the materials and equipment involved, team members might experience exposure to loud noise or hazardous fumes, high heat work environment, chemicals, oils or particles from various sources, including petroleum products, , burning plastics, metal filings, sawdust, paint or industrial cleaners. Workers must also pay attention at all times, as assembly line tools and machinery can potentially inflict serious injury as the result of negligence or breakdown.
