Job Summary (basic description)
Focused on identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives to streamline the work allocation process, the Legal Practice Operations Manager will be responsible for supporting the design and optimization of the attorney case assignments. The Legal Practice Operations Manager will assist with documentation of existing processes, creation of business requirements, and develop / analyze the work allocation experience by designing and monitoring reports to track efficiency, compliance and utilization. The Legal Practice Operations Manager will interact with members of the talent, finance and IT teams as well as partners across Business Services and the firm to evaluate and improve internal processes with a focus on automating, simplifying, and reducing case assignment times, while improving the quality of service and work allocation experience for attorneys. This role will lead initiatives to improve current process, introduce automation and data analytics, create training and reporting to support the case staffing process with the goal of providing exceptional experiences to our internal and external clients.
Essential Functions
- Support the Work Experience team in developing a process to effectively manage the attorney work allocation lifecycle by focusing on efficiency and consistency
- Proactively identify process design opportunities and implement changes to drive quality staffing outcomes
- Design processes that focus on effective case management and timely assignments; ensuring quality and providing growth and learning or mobility opportunities for attorneys.
- Leverage data analytics and automation to create robust reports and dashboards that monitor case staffing processes and outcomes. Leverage reports to support day-to-day operations and develop planning and prediction capabilities; support internal stakeholders reporting and analysis needs.
- Manage relationships with other business services departments and internal clients.
- Actively participate in relevant projects by completing and maintaining project documentation, managing project scope and timelines, determining daily priorities, and ensuring efficient and on time delivery of milestones.
- This role will develop a process that will enable our case staffers and others to streamline the workflow of attorney assignments.

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $117,000 and $131,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience
and other factors permitted by law.
