JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Intermediate Architect/Designer 1 (ID1)
Summary:
JMA is seeking a driven and passionate ID1 who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment built on open communication. The ID1 will work under the direction of an Architect/Designer 3 or Project Manager to produce project documents in accordance with JMA’s production guidelines. Primary responsibilities include assisting with schematic design, drawing production, construction documentation, and preliminary design work. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ID1 will also support the team by assisting in the development of project documents including schematic design, design development, and code compliance reviews — in collaboration with the Architect/Designer 3 and/or Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to schematic design, drawing production, and construction documentation, including presentations and renderings.
• Follow JMA production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
• Assist with preliminary design, design development, code compliance reviews, and consultant coordination.
• Maintain organized project files, including all correspondence.
• Help manage client expectations and coordinate communication between the project team and consultants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Strong commitment to client satisfaction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong graphic presentation abilities.
• Willingness to adapt to a variety of project types and market sectors, with the ability to support multiple projects at various stages of development.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and relationship management skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp required; experience with Adobe applications (Photoshop and Illustrator), Autodesk 3ds Max, Enscape, or similar modeling software preferred.
Seattle Office: Our Seattle office is a beautifully renovated historic building in Pioneer Square. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Compensation:
• Full-time, non-exempt position.
• Pay range: $29.18 – $35.67 per hour (dependent on experience).
