Description
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Residence Hall Receptionist position - Transitional Hall.
Examples of Duties
- Maintain order in the lobby of the residence hall or apartment complex.
- Serve as a resource for parents, students, and other university staff.
- Inform staff of incidents and violations.
- Conduct room lockouts.
- Stay informed on all matters that could affect responses to emergencies including things that could cause emergencies and those that could affect response time or equipment problems.
- Provide supervision for Summer Programs.
- Perform security checks of stairwells, windows, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.
- Respond appropriately to any breach of building security.
- Clerical duties such as typing, filing, and creating various reports.
- Maintain confidentiality in all facets of the position
Typical Qualifications
- Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
One year of general office experience, including knowledge of general office procedures
Higher Education experience is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
This is an overnight position with shifts from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
