Salary: $17-$19 an hour based on experience and education level (40 hours a week). Upon completion of your first 90 days, a performance review will be completed with a potential hourly increase up to $2.00, may be considered.
Schedule:
- 8 Hour Shifts/40 Hours a Week
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30am - 4:00pm
- On Call and Stand By required
- Overtime offered
- Nights, Weekends, and Holiday work as necessary

Position Summary: The Authority is looking for the right candidate to join our team as Laborer 1 in our Line Maintenance department. This position is responsible for participating in the maintenance and repair of water distribution system and sanitary sewer collection system.
Position Responsibilities Include (It is important to note that the duties listed below are a brief description only and are not intended to cover the full range or scope of duties performed by Laborer 1):
- Assist in maintenance and repair of water mains, hydrants, and valves.
- Flush hydrants.
- Assist in the maintenance and operation of pumping stations.
- Respond to complaints regarding water leaks and pressure loss or no water and evaluate situation.
- Dig ditches and holes.
- Assist in snow plowing.
- Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and meet all work scheduling requirements.
- Perform work safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Perform other related activities as assigned by supervisor or managers.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license, and clean driving record is required.
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not required as training will be provided.
- Ability to pass physical and testing requirements to obtain CDL.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of a group.
- Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to understand, remember, and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to work harmoniously with associates, supervisors, and to deal effectively with the public.
- Ability to care for equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance work.
- Ability to learn to use the tools and equipment needed to perform routine tasks.
- Knowledge of basic tools is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety precautions in the operation of assigned tools and equipment.
- Basic computer skills are needed.
- Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the Authority.
Physical Requirements:
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50lbs.
- Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, and moving about on job site.
- Exposed to cold/heat/humidity. Position often requires work to be performed outside in all kinds of weather.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
