Job Summary
The Clinical Supervisor will provide individual counseling services, as well as clinical supervision to JU CMHC students providing counseling services during their practicum and internship at the Center for Men’s Mental Wellness. The Clinical Supervisor will perform additional duties as assigned by the JU CMMW Director, Dr. LaTonya Summers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Clinical supervision to JU CMHC students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides 1 hour of clinical supervision to CMHC student(s) per week
- Is onsite with student(s) during practicum and internship hours
- Provides counseling services, either online via a secured HIPPA Compliant Telehealth platform or face-to face, to clients at site including assessment, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and referrals as needed.
- Consults external community providers concerning treatment plans and for coordination of care, as required.
- Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in clinical and supervisory roles.
- Responsible for counseling and supervision practice provided in accordance with professional ethics and boundaries Facilitates the professional and personal development of students and provides objective and constructive evaluation/feedback
- Maintains electronic case records that are in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and other federal and state regulations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Skill in facilitating development of student problem solving skills.
- Ability to design effective learning activities for students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
- Currently licensed to practice in FL as a Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist per the rules and regulations of FL 491 Board
- Holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Counseling
- At least 5 years of clinical counseling experience
Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily indoors but requires incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or engaging in relevant outreach activities.
- Standard work hours are M-F, 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with all holidays off, May, June and July, December off.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person or by phone.
- Must be able to show proof of immunization against Hepatitis B and MMR.
